Australian data center operator NEXTDC announced on Friday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT. The two parties will jointly plan, develop, and operate a hyperscale artificial intelligence campus and GPU supercluster at the S7 site in Sydney. Headquartered in Queensland, NEXTDC acquired the S7 site in Eastern Creek, Sydney, for approximately AUD 353 million (approximately USD 233.37 million) in October last year, with a potential capacity of 550 megawatts.
