This launch is in direct response to the pressing market need for dependable connectivity solutions. The new service amalgamates AWS's Interconnect multi-cloud interconnection capabilities with Google Cloud's cross-cloud interconnection technology. As a result, customers can swiftly set up private, high-speed connections between the computing platforms of these two tech giants in a matter of minutes, significantly boosting network interoperability.

This strategic move arrives a little over a month after the widespread Amazon Web Services outage on October 20th. That incident brought down thousands of websites across the globe and inflicted losses estimated between $500 million and $650 million on U.S. businesses. Among the early adopters of this innovative service is Salesforce.
