In a bid to uphold the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, expedite the attainment of high-level self-sufficiency and robustness in science and technology, and put into practice the "Several Policy Measures to Expedite the Construction of a Sci-Tech Finance System and Strongly Bolster High-Level Self-Sufficiency and Robustness in Science and Technology," key departments, notably the People's Bank of China and the Ministry of Science and Technology, jointly organized the inaugural meeting of the coordinated promotion mechanism for sci-tech finance on November 27th. Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People's Bank of China, and Yin Hejun, Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, were in attendance and delivered speeches. Zhu Hexin, Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China, chaired the proceedings. Also present were Qiu Yong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Zhou Liang, Deputy Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration; Chen Huaping, Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission; and Xiao Zonghui, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

The meeting underscored the strategic pivotal role of technological innovation in national development, advocating for an accelerated push towards high-level self-sufficiency and robustness in science and technology to spearhead the growth of new-quality productive forces. It was noted that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, financial backing for technological innovation has yielded notable outcomes, with a wealth of vital experiences being explored and consolidated.

The meeting further highlighted that the upcoming year heralds the commencement of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. It is imperative to regularly activate the coordinated promotion mechanism for sci-tech finance, enhance the synergy between the scientific and technological sectors and financial institutions, as well as foster coordination between central and local governments. Additionally, there is a need to refine policy measures to further support high-level self-sufficiency and robustness in science and technology.
