Schneider Electric has pointed out that the United States is currently grappling with a significant dilemma. There is a burgeoning surge in power demand, primarily driven by the ever-expanding data center sector, while, at the same time, the nation's power grid is aging and becoming increasingly inadequate. The company has made a sobering prediction: if the current level of reserve capacity is not enhanced, by the year 2028, the U.S. will find itself unable to satisfy the power demand during peak usage hours. Moreover, by 2033, the gap between the national power installation capacity and the actual demand could reach a staggering 175 gigawatts. This shortfall has the potential to trigger widespread blackouts across the country, causing significant disruptions to daily life and economic activities.
