As reported by telecomstechnews, Samsung and SK Telecom (SKT) have unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the construction of 6G core infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on AI Radio Access Network (AI-RAN) technology. The two entities plan to seamlessly integrate AI capabilities into the network's edge, concentrating on key areas such as AI-driven channel estimation, distributed MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) transmission techniques, and AI-RAN schedulers. These efforts are geared towards overcoming the challenges of achieving low latency in environments densely populated with devices. Under this collaboration, Samsung will take the lead in developing AI-RAN algorithms and corresponding software, while SKT will offer real-world testing environments to validate and refine these innovations.
