The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently released a notice announcing the launch of a project to establish national demonstration bases for the growth of emerging industries. This strategic move is designed to concentrate on pivotal sectors within emerging industries, identifying top-tier industrial parks and enterprises across the nation. By harnessing their demonstrative and leading (a term emphasizing both example-setting and pioneering qualities) positions, as well as their capacity to radiate influence and drive progress, the aim is to foster the expansion and reinforcement of emerging industries while nurturing high-caliber productive capabilities.
The demonstration bases will be categorized into two types: those centered around industrial parks and those focused on individual enterprises. The industrial park-based bases will aim to foster industrial agglomeration, collaborative innovation, ecological refinement, and improved governance. Meanwhile, the enterprise-based bases will concentrate on enhancing product development, technological innovation, business model innovation, and operational efficiency. The overarching goal is to set up around 100 industrial park-based and 1,000 enterprise-based demonstration bases by 2035. These bases will collectively form a core group capable of steering the development of emerging industries and offering robust backing for the advancement of a new era of industrialization.
