In October 2025, under the organization of the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group, Huawei completed all test cases for key technologies of 5G-A cellular passive IoT. The test utilized a 3GPP standards-based split base station architecture, including BBU, pRRU, and auxiliary nodes, marking the first such instance in the industry.
