Microsoft has inked a deal with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to furnish discounted cloud services to numerous U.S. government agencies over the next three years. This agreement seeks to enhance collaboration between the current administration and tech firms, aiming to streamline executive branch services. As announced by the GSA on Tuesday, this partnership is anticipated to result in substantial cost savings for the government, estimated at $3.1 billion in the initial year and surpassing $6 billion over the contract's duration. The scope of services includes subscriptions to Microsoft Office software, Azure cloud services, Dynamics 365, and Sentinel security software. Furthermore, Microsoft is providing its AI assistant Copilot service complimentary to government employees for a period of one year.
