On September 1, Amazon announced the inauguration of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific (New Zealand) Region, pledging an investment exceeding NZD 7.5 billion (approximately US$4.4 billion) towards the construction, connectivity, operation, and maintenance of data centers in the region. This strategic move is designed to cater to the burgeoning demand for cloud services in New Zealand and propel digital transformation efforts. Additionally, this investment is anticipated to generate over a thousand full-time job opportunities and contribute NZD 10.8 billion to New Zealand's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
