On August 20, Entergy, a leading American energy provider, announced that the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) has given the green light to its proposal to build three state-of-the-art natural gas power plants exclusively for Meta's largest data center. Pursuant to the agreement, Entergy's Louisiana subsidiary will embark on the construction of three combined-cycle gas turbine power generation facilities, with an anticipated phased commencement of operations by the close of 2028 and 2029. Furthermore, Entergy will establish multiple new transmission lines, not only ensuring a consistent power supply for the Meta data center but also bolstering the overall reliability of the electrical grid within its service territory.
