On the evening of August 12, numerous Unicom users, predominantly in Beijing, reported a network outage that rendered certain websites and applications inaccessible. Many internet users complained that popular platforms like Douyin and Weibo were unable to be opened, while some individuals encountered issues with car charging payments due to the network disruption. Alibaba Cloud and Huawei Cloud swiftly issued statements acknowledging the detection of DNS anomalies related to the Unicom operator, but assured that services have since been restored following emergency measures. As of this writing, China Unicom has yet to issue an official response regarding this incident.
