A-Share Markets Open Higher, Lithium Mining Stocks Soar

On August 11, the three major A-share indexes commenced trading on a positive note. The Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.05%, the Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.27%, and the ChiNext Index advanced 0.13%. Lithium mining stocks shone brightly, with Jiangte Motor and Yongshan Lithium hitting their daily upper limits, while Tianqi Lithium and Zhongkuang Resources surged by over 9%. The real estate and steel sectors also contributed to the gains, with Bayi Iron & Steel and Wantong Development closing at their daily upper limits. Conversely, the gold and jewelry sector, as well as the education sector, underperformed, with Chifeng Gold and Western Gold declining by more than 3%, and Toply falling by more than 2%.
