On August 9, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce, commenced granting NVIDIA licenses for the export of H100 chips to mainland China. Prior to this development, NVIDIA's CEO Jen-Hsun Huang had a meeting with U.S. President Trump at the White House. The issuance of these licenses signifies the lifting of the U.S. ban on NVIDIA's sales of H100 chips to China.
