On August 4, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced that Vietnam will expedite its semiconductor industry development strategy and talent cultivation plans, with the aim of achieving autonomous design, manufacturing, and testing of key chips by no later than 2027. To attain this milestone, PM Chinh directed ministries, industries, and local governments to prioritize the implementation of existing tasks and solutions tailored for the growth of the semiconductor sector. Specifically, he highlighted the importance of adhering to the "Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy towards 2050 with a Vision to 2030" and the "Semiconductor Talent Cultivation Plan towards 2050 with a Vision to 2030." The Prime Minister stressed the urgency of completing tasks by 2025 to establish a robust foundation for the semiconductor industry and to achieve talent cultivation targets by 2030 as expeditiously as possible.
