The initial phase of the Saudi Arabia Saad 2 PV project, contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), comprising 799 MW, has successfully commenced commercial operation as per schedule. Situated in the Saad region, approximately 100 kilometers from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, this project marks POWERCHINA's maiden gigawatt-scale PV undertaking overseas. The construction is a collaborative effort between East China Electric Power Design Institute and SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Corporation, forming a joint venture. The entire project boasts a total installed capacity of 1.25 GW and encompasses vital infrastructure such as 33/132 kV booster stations, 11.5 kilometers of transmission lines, and grid integration systems.
