On July 24, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger addressed all employees in a letter, announcing the company's implementation of a significant layoff plan that will affect approximately 15% of its workforce. This move is anticipated to reduce the total number of global employees to 75,000 by the end of the year. Gelsinger disclosed that the bulk of these layoffs have already been executed during the second quarter, with the management level experiencing a nearly 50% reduction. Furthermore, the company plans to introduce a return-to-work policy in September, with each factory undergoing necessary enhancements to ensure full-capacity operations.
