Kioxia has introduced the LC9 series of solid-state drives (SSDs), boasting a colossal capacity of up to 245.76TB, thereby setting a new benchmark for storage device capacities. Tailored for high-density storage applications such as AI training and hyperscale data centers, this SSD integrates 8TB of storage into a single NAND package, marking a significant leap in storage density. Illustrating its immense storage potential, this SSD can effortlessly accommodate over 12,500 4K movies. Leveraging a proprietary NVMe 2.0 controller, the LC9 series features a PCIe 5.0 interface and employs Kioxia's advanced BiCS8 3D QLC NAND chips. It delivers impressive sequential read speeds of up to 12GB/s and write speeds of up to 3GB/s. Kioxia aims to provide multiple size options to cater to diverse needs.
