NVIDIA, a leading American chipmaker, has officially confirmed that its supply of H20 AI chips, specifically tailored for the Chinese market, is currently constrained, and the company does not foresee any immediate plans to restart production. The H20 chip stands as the most advanced AI computing product permitted for sale to China under existing U.S. export controls.
Previously, stringent U.S. export restrictions targeting China compelled NVIDIA to terminate related orders and halt the production of the H20 chips. It is now understood that the manufacturing capacity previously allocated to the H20 has been redirected towards other product lines within the company, effectively ruling out the possibility of resuming H20 production in the near future.
