NVIDIA has recently disclosed that its H20 chips have obtained approval from the United States and will resume shipments to Chinese manufacturers. Nevertheless, owing to the previous US sales ban imposed in April, NVIDIA was compelled to cancel its booked manufacturing capacity at TSMC, leading to a constrained supply of H20 chips. The company has communicated to its Chinese clientele that the availability of H20 chips will remain limited and that there are no immediate plans to recommence production. This announcement has elicited concern within the industry, prompting Chinese customers to eagerly place orders. However, NVIDIA must still submit these orders to the US government for further approval.
