During the first half of this year, Xinjiang's cumulative electricity exports soared to 61.365 billion kWh, marking a 6.57% increase year-on-year. Notably, new energy sources accounted for a substantial portion of these exports, totaling 20.787 billion kWh. This significant contribution is equivalent to reducing the consumption of 6.29 million tons of standard coal and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 16.98 million tons. As of the end of June, Xinjiang's power grid boasted a total installed capacity of 219 million kW, with new energy installations comprising over half of this figure at 128 million kW. This places Xinjiang among the nation's leaders in both the scale and proportion of new energy installations.
