Denmark has ambitious plans to construct 'Magne,' touted as the world's most advanced commercial quantum computer. This groundbreaking initiative is jointly financed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Danish state-owned credit fund EIFO, with a total investment of €80 million. Joining forces in this endeavor are Microsoft and Atom Computing, who will collaborate on the development of this pioneering machine. Scheduled to become operational between 2026 and 2027, Magne will initially boast 50 logical qubits, promising to revolutionize sectors such as drug discovery and materials science. By synergizing Microsoft's cutting-edge quantum error correction technology with Atom Computing's highly reliable neutral atom qubits, Magne is poised to become one of the world's first Level 2 quantum computers.
