Synopsys Finalizes Acquisition of Ansys

On July 17, Synopsys, a leading Electronic Design Automation (EDA) giant in the US semiconductor industry, officially announced the completion of its $35 billion acquisition of Ansys, a prominent simulation EDA company. This significant transaction, initially disclosed in January 2024, received conditional approval from China's State Administration for Market Regulation on July 14, 2025. Upon the successful conclusion of the acquisition, the former President and CEO of Ansys, along with key members of its board of directors, will integrate into the Synopsys board of directors.
