On July 15th, Broadcom unveiled the Tomahawk Ultra network processor, designed to bolster AI data processing capabilities, particularly tailored for environments demanding the interconnectivity of hundreds of collaboratively operating chips. Serving as a sophisticated "traffic controller," the chip manages high-speed data transmission efficiently, connecting four times the number of chips compared to rival products and leveraging an advanced, faster Ethernet standard. Fabricated using TSMC's 5-nanometer technology, the Tomahawk Ultra has commenced shipping to customers.
