Qualcomm is currently developing a new chipset, codenamed Aspen and model SW6100, exclusively tailored for smartwatches. While the official name of the chip is yet to be announced, speculations hint that it might fall under the Snapdragon Wear W6 series, potentially named W6 Gen 1, adhering to the naming pattern of its predecessor, the W5 with model number SW5100. Manufactured using TSMC's advanced process, this chip boasts an enhanced RAM controller that supports LPDDR5X, coupled with a QCC6100 coprocessor. The CPU core configuration consists of 1x Arm Cortex-A78 and 4x Arm Cortex-A55, offering a substantial performance improvement over its predecessor. This enhancement is projected to modestly extend battery life and is anticipated to power Wear OS smartwatches by 2026.
