Since the debut of NVIDIA's latest flagship graphics cards, the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, acquiring them at their manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) has proven nearly impossible due to limited supply, prompting scalpers to inflate prices on third-party marketplaces. To combat this issue, NVIDIA introduced the "Verified Priority Purchase" program in February of this year. This initiative aims to assist genuine gamers in securing Founders Edition graphics cards directly from NVIDIA at official prices.
To participate in the program, applicants must have an NVIDIA account registered before January 30, 2025, and submit an application for purchase eligibility. NVIDIA meticulously evaluates applicants based on their gameplay duration, frequency of driver updates, and other relevant data to ensure they are legitimate gamers. Eligible applicants are then randomly selected to receive invitation codes. Verified users are restricted to purchasing a single graphics card, a measure designed to thwart scalpers' efforts to stockpile and resell these high-demand products.
