During a routine press briefing, the Ministry of Commerce addressed the European Union's accusation of 'overcapacity' in China, clarifying that the assessment of overcapacity cannot be based solely on production and export volumes. China emphasized that, from a medium-to-long-term global perspective, there is no overcapacity in its new energy industry; rather, there exists a gap in production capacity that needs to be addressed. The country is actively promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, leveraging domestic demand to drive economic growth. Furthermore, China highlighted that its green products significantly contribute to the EU's green transformation efforts. The Ministry called on the EU to adopt an objective view of the bilateral economic and trade relationship, strengthen communication and cooperation, and jointly work towards fostering an open and inclusive world economy.
