Qualcomm Severs Ties with Samsung as Foundry Partner for Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2

Qualcomm is in the process of developing two variants of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. One of these, codenamed "Kaanapali S," was initially slated for production using Samsung's cutting-edge 2nm GAA technology. However, recent whispers indicate that Qualcomm is reconsidering the unveiling of these two models at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit on September 23. Consequently, Qualcomm's San Diego-based factory has decided to terminate its partnership with the Korean foundry and has removed the identifiers 8850-S and 8850-T from its plans. Should these rumors prove accurate, TSMC may once again become Qualcomm's sole supplier, fulfilling all its order requirements.
