Brazil's antitrust authority, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), has concluded that Apple employs anti-competitive strategies within the digital ecosystem of its iOS operating system. Following an investigation into allegations that Apple mandates exclusive use of its proprietary payment system on iOS and bars businesses from notifying customers about alternative payment methods, CADE asserts that these restrictions artificially impede market entry for competitors in relevant iOS markets. Consequently, Apple may incur fines and be compelled to revise its iOS policies in Brazil. The matter has been forwarded to Brazilian courts for further deliberation.
