On June 18, 2025, a collaborative effort between the teams of Huang Houbing and Wang Jing from the Frontier Interdisciplinary Science Research Institute, School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Zhuhai Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), and the group led by Professor Ce-Wen Nan at Tsinghua University, published groundbreaking research in the prestigious international journal Science Advances. The study, titled "General Principle of Ferroelectric Topological Domain Formation," unveils a fundamental principle guiding the creation of topological structures in ferroelectric materials—the "superposition of polarization waves" principle. This notable advancement establishes a solid theoretical foundation for the exploration of ferroelectric topological structures and heralds promising prospects for technological innovation and application development in related fields.
