Intel, once the dominant force in the semiconductor industry, has gradually seen its edge diminish due to its inability to swiftly capitalize on technological trends such as AI. Since assuming office, new CEO Pat Gelsinger has implemented a series of strategies aimed at revitalizing the company. These include divesting non-core businesses, intensifying focus on AI-specific chips and foundry manufacturing, and overhauling the corporate culture. Recently, Gelsinger has also announced plans to realign the foundry business strategy by deprioritizing the 18A process technology and instead concentrating resources on the 14A process, with the goal of reclaiming a leading position in the market.
