Statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on July 1 revealed that from January to May of this year, the value-added of China's electronic information manufacturing enterprises above a designated size surged by 11.1% year-on-year. This growth rate was 4.8 percentage points higher than that of the industrial sector as a whole and 1.6 percentage points higher than that of high-tech manufacturing. In May alone, the value-added of this industry increased by 10.2% year-on-year.
