Samsung Electronics' foundry division has announced a strategic adjustment, postponing the mass production of 1.4nm semiconductors to 2029. This represents a two-year delay from the initial timeline and trails behind TSMC's target of 2028. The decision aims to concentrate efforts on enhancing the maturity and utilization rates of the 2nm and advanced process nodes. Concurrently, Samsung will proceed with the mass production of 2nm processes as scheduled this year and work towards optimizing the utilization of established processes, including 4nm, 5nm, and 8nm.
