China's self-sufficiency rate for vegetable seeds stands at an impressive 91%, guaranteeing the stable supply of the nation's "vegetable basket." The Beijing Tongzhou International Seed Industry Park has made groundbreaking progress by developing domestic solid-phase chip detection equipment and chips. This milestone has led to the initiation of the country's first independent solid-phase gene chip project for tomato breeding. Anticipated to be launched by the end of this year, these tomato breeding chips are poised to drastically cut the costs of genetic testing and enhance breeding efficiency once commercialized.
