On July 1, TrendForce published a market insight report on memory chips, forecasting that DDR4 prices will reach their apex and subsequently decline during the fourth quarter. The report emphasizes that the recent surge in DDR4 prices is primarily attributed to production cuts by suppliers and a surge in market demand, but this momentum may falter towards the year's end. According to surveys, as prices climb, suppliers are progressively releasing their inventories, with an anticipated boost in overall supply during the fourth quarter. Regarding DDR5, price dynamics remain stable, with anticipated quarterly price hikes of 3% to 8% in the second and third quarters of 2025. Nonetheless, some second-tier OEM vendors have indicated that due to suppliers' anticipation of ongoing price increases, there is minimal room for negotiation, rendering bargaining a challenging endeavor.
