The European Union (EU) plans to accept a trade agreement with the United States, which stipulates a uniform 10% tariff on the majority of EU exports. Nonetheless, the EU harbors hopes that the US will apply lower tariffs to crucial industries, including pharmaceuticals, alcohol, semiconductors, and commercial aircraft. Additionally, the EU is vigorously advocating for the US to grant quotas and exemptions, aiming to significantly reduce the 25% tariff on automobiles and parts, as well as the 50% tariff on steel and aluminum. According to reports, Maros Sefcovic, the EU's Chief Trade Negotiator, will head a delegation to Washington to advance these negotiations.
