The 16th Summer Davos Forum, themed "Entrepreneurship in the New Era," convened in Tianjin in 2025. During the forum, Li Zhenguo, President of Longi Green Energy, delivered a speech highlighting that photovoltaic power has emerged as the most cost-effective electricity source in numerous regions globally. China's photovoltaic manufacturing sector boasts over 80% of the world's production capacity, producing over 500 gigawatts of modules annually, thereby playing a pivotal role in the global energy transition and the pursuit of carbon neutrality. Li Zhenguo further noted that photovoltaic technology has witnessed significant advancements in recent years, with conversion efficiency soaring from 15% a decade ago to the current 25%, and with projections indicating a future rise to 35%. He disclosed that Longi Green Energy's perovskite-crystalline silicon tandem battery has achieved a laboratory efficiency of 34.85%, with expectations of industrialization within the next decade. This breakthrough is poised to further decrease photovoltaic costs and expedite the energy transition process.
