Institution: 3nm and 2nm Processes Projected to Represent One-Third of Smartphone SoC Shipments by 2026

On June 24, Counterpoint Research, a leading market research firm, revealed that by the year 2026, 3nm and 2nm manufacturing processes will comprise approximately one-third of all smartphone SoC shipments. Apple has spearheaded the adoption of TSMC's 3nm process, using it to manufacture the A17 Pro SoC for the anticipated 2023 iPhone 15 Pro series. Similarly, Qualcomm and MediaTek have introduced flagship SoCs leveraging the 3nm process. It is anticipated that by 2025, the 3nm process will emerge as the preeminent node for new flagship SoCs.
