During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, convened with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Novak, underscoring the pivotal role of China-Russia energy cooperation. Ding Xuexiang emphasized that energy collaboration serves as a vital cornerstone of pragmatic ties between the two nations. China expressed its willingness to deepen integrated cooperation with Russia across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry, aiming to foster a high-level energy cooperation partnership. Novak, in response, pledged to facilitate the successful convening of the Russian-Chinese Energy Cooperation Committee and to infuse fresh momentum into the bilateral relationship's development. On the same day, Ding Xuexiang also engaged in a dialogue with Miller, President of Gazprom, to discuss potential collaboration in the natural gas sector.
