In collaboration with an international team, the research group headed by Lu Qingyou at the High Magnetic Field Science Center of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has achieved a significant breakthrough in manipulating the ferroelastic crystal orientation of oxide thin films. Leveraging the shear stress generated by ultra-sharp tips within a combined microscopy system incorporating the steady-state high magnetic field experimental facility, they successfully demonstrated three-dimensional control over ferroelastic domains in oxide thin films. This milestone offers fresh perspectives and techniques for advancing research in associated disciplines.
