Anne Wojcicki, co-founder and former CEO of 23andMe, is set to reclaim ownership of the company. After filing for bankruptcy protection, Wojcicki, via her non-profit organization TTAM Research Institute, has submitted a bid of $305 million to acquire nearly all assets of 23andMe. This successful bid effectively supersedes an earlier offer of $256 million made by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. The focus of Wojcicki's bid lies in 23andMe's extensive DNA database, which comprises data from over 15 million individuals. Previously, 23andMe had encountered criticism following a data breach incident, and this latest development has reignited concerns regarding data privacy protection.
