Micron Technology has informed its clientele of its intention to gradually scale down or halt the production of DDR4 and LPDDR4 memory products, commencing in the first quarter of 2026. This move will primarily impact the consumer, PC, and data center sectors. Concurrently, the company has affirmed its commitment to maintaining the supply of DDR4 and LPDDR4 for applications in the automotive, industrial, and network communication domains. Sumit Sadana, Micron's Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, noted that DDR4 continues to grapple with significant supply constraints. Additionally, Micron aims to bolster its pricing leverage in low-margin markets, thereby enhancing overall profitability.
