In a groundbreaking collaboration between the research team led by Professor Liu Biheng, part of Academician Guo Guangcan's group at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and Origin Quantum, scientists have successfully achieved device-independent characterization of authentic multipartite entanglement subspaces within both optical and superconducting quantum systems. This pioneering work also includes the self-testing of a five-qubit error correction code space. The landmark findings were published in the Progress of Physics on May 14. Authentic multipartite entanglement states embody the most potent form of quantum entanglement, holding immense significance in the design of quantum error correction codes. This research bridges a crucial technical gap in the experimental verification of multipartite entanglement subspaces, solidifying China's position as a global leader in the realm of quantum error correction.
