The groundbreaking ceremony for Tibet Development and Investment's Anduo Tushuo 100MW Solar Thermal Power Station recently took place in Anduo County, Nagqu City. This monumental project marks the construction of the world's highest-altitude tower-type solar thermal power station. Boasting a total investment of RMB 2.037 billion, the power station utilizes cutting-edge molten salt tower technology and is anticipated to commence grid-connected power generation by October 2026.

Nestled at an elevation of 4,650 meters, the power station benefits from an annual sunshine duration exceeding 2,800 hours. This abundant solar resource is projected to yield an annual electricity generation capacity of up to 260 million kWh, enabling a continuous power supply for 16 hours each day. Upon its completion, the power station will significantly bolster the power supply capacity of the northern Tibetan grid by approximately 200MW and contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 165,000 tonnes annually.
