On June 10, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) officially announced the commencement of mass production and delivery of its large-capacity energy storage dedicated battery cells, the 587Ah. Boasting an impressive energy density of 434Wh/L, these cells represent a 10% increase over the previous generation and a remarkable 25% enhancement in system energy density. Leveraging three groundbreaking innovations in mechanical structure, chemical system, and electrode design, the initial charge-discharge cycle energy efficiency has reached 96.5%. Rigorous testing has demonstrated that the self-discharge failure rate of the 587Ah cell body is notably lower compared to that of laminated batteries.
