On June 9, TSMC Chairman Mark Liu disclosed that the construction of the second factory in Kumamoto, Japan, has encountered delays due to "traffic congestion issues." According to supply chain sources, the first Kumamoto factory has failed to achieve the anticipated capacity utilization rate, citing funding constraints, manpower shortages, and fluctuating customer demand as contributing factors. Furthermore, plans for the construction of the German factory and the subsequent introduction of equipment may also undergo adjustments. Generally speaking, the automotive markets in Japan and Europe are experiencing sluggish growth, falling short of TSMC's initial projections.
