On June 8, the Institute of High Energy Physics, belonging to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, proudly announced a significant milestone. The compact P-band high-power metamaterial klystron, developed by the radio frequency team of the China Spallation Neutron Source Accelerator in collaboration with various units, has successfully completed a high-power test. All key technical specifications met the required standards, marking a significant step towards localization. Previously, this type of klystron, which serves as the cornerstone of the radio frequency power source system for the China Spallation Neutron Source linear accelerator, was entirely reliant on imports. This breakthrough underscores China's formidable prowess in the realm of high-end radio frequency device research and development.
