The Shanghai Jiao Tong University Wuxi Photonic Chip Research Institute (CHIPX) has recently made a significant breakthrough. On June 5, less than a month after being selected for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "First Batch of Key Cultivation Pilot Platforms" list, CHIPX successfully rolled off the production line with the country's first 6-inch thin-film lithium niobate photonic chip wafer at the nation's pioneering photonic chip pilot line. This milestone also marked the achievement of large-scale mass production of ultra-low-loss, ultra-high-bandwidth thin-film lithium niobate modulator chips, with key technical indicators reaching the forefront of international standards.
