During the first quarter of 2025, the global shipments of discrete graphics cards surged to 9.2 million units, marking a 5.3% increase year-on-year and an 8.5% jump quarter-on-quarter. Analysts predict that within the next five years, the penetration rate of discrete graphics cards in desktops will climb to 86%. This quarter, NVIDIA's market share soared to an impressive 92%, whereas AMD's share dipped to 8%, and Intel's share fell below 1%. AMD's decline in market share is largely attributed to misjudgments in demand forecasting and inadequate capacity allocation. Conversely, NVIDIA has solidified its market-leading position with its RTX 50 series of graphics cards.
