On Friday, following the resignation of two commissioners from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the number of remaining members dwindled to two, falling short of the statutory requirement of a five-member commission. The FCC comprises five commissioners who are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Each serves a five-year term, with a stipulation that no more than three commissioners can belong to the same political party.
