Macau to Terminate 3G Services: Users Urged to Upgrade to 4G/5G Networks

Effective June 5, 2025, Macau will officially cease 3G communication services. The Special Administrative Region (SAR) government has urged telecommunication operators to redirect their resources towards the development of 4G and 5G networks. To ensure seamless connectivity, operators are advising users to verify if their devices are compatible with 4G/5G and to activate the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) function. Additionally, another operator has announced plans to terminate 3G services on June 30, further accelerating the advancement and adoption of advanced network technologies, including 5G.
